U.S. v. Miller: A default judgment was entered by U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel Pope against Joseph Smith and Hyrum Smith and others for $5,212 regarding their promissory note to Robert E. Lee for the purchase of the steamboat Nauvoo. No property was found of the defendants subject to execution.
