Nauvoo, Illinois
Nauvoo City Ordinance: Established the taxation of all lands within the City of Nauvoo, excluding City lands, or Church lands, and for stud horses, asses, mules, horses, mares, cattle, clocks, watches, carriages, wagons, carts, and money in loans, stock, or trade. It called for the appointment of an Assessor and Collector to insure that these taxes were paid, and it established fines for non-payment.
